Covergirl Blast Flipsticks Review

The Covergirl Blast Flipsticks are an innovative new product that allows people to customize their look with coordinating colors. You can use each color alone or you can combine them or use one color to highlight an area on top of the other.

I received three products to try – here they are swatched on my hand in direct sunlight.

Here is my review of each color sent to me in order of my preference.

#1 – Vixen – a raspberry pink and soft pink shimmer.
This is a color that I feel can be worn to work or out, its very versatile and the colors in my opinion are the most buildable. The cooler tones also work better with my fair skin.

#2 – Stunner – a bright coral and gold shimmer.
This color is very bold for me! While I did like the look of it the darker coral color made my lips feel quite dry. I appears to have a matte finish but there is a little shimmer in it. The lighter shade was very hard to layer and it took several attempts to get what I felt was a noticeable difference.

#3 – Minx – a chocolate brown and copper shimmer.
As I stated above, I have very fair skin. It was quite dark and in my opinion it was too dark for me to ever consider wearing.

Thoughts and hints for use.
-Definitely use a lip brush, especially when trying to layer the colors for a noticeable difference. If you apply directly to the lips it tends to blend way too easily and isn’t as noticeable.
-They STAIN! The coral color stained the most and took several attempts of makeup remover to get off and it still wasn’t completely gone. I discovered to avoid staining, liberally apply your favorite clear lip balm or chapstick before using the lipsticks.

Overall – I am on the fence as to whether I would buy this product or not. I might check out other colors when I’m shopping but will have fun using vixen and maybe stunner in the meantime! Suggested retail for these lipsticks is $8.49 however has them listed for $7.99. If you are interested in trying these out, let me know, I would be happy to share with you a $2.00 off coupon taking it down to around $6 depending on where you buy it.

I am a bzzagent and was able to test and review these products for free. Thank you bzzagent & covergirl!
