Frugal Friday ~ Cleaning Supplies! {Vinegar+Dish Soap!}

I have decided that in my opinion, this is the BEST CLEANER EVER! Plus its super inexpensive to make.  All you need is WHITE vinegar and dish soap!

In the past I’ve tried various types of cleaning products and some are horribly strong.  The chemical smell also irritates my nose and eyes – so I’ve been secretly on the look out for a better alternative.

Thanks to pinterest, my mom, and my boss, I’ve started cleaning with vinegar!  My boss swears by using just vinegar to clean her bathroom.  She’ll use it on the sink, fixtures, and even in the toilet.  However, your bathroom will smell like vinegar and that smell reminds me of dying Easter eggs! It’s not bad – but I think it would drive me nuts!

The directions around pinterest usually say 1/2 cup of vinegar and 1/2 cup of dish soap, since I have a bigger amount of dish soap left that I wanted to use up, I doubled the recipe. All you do is mix it up and I think it’ll clean anything!  I especially love using it in my bathroom.  I use it on the sink, the shower walls, shower head, fixtures, etc.  It also works wonders on some laundry stains!  Just put a little of the mix on a stain – wash it normally, and you might be surprised!

You know by now that I recycle, so for my mix that lives in the bathroom, I used an empty Febreeze bottle!  (Why buy one if you have some one in your plastic recycling bin!!)

*According to pinterest, you should use Dawn dish soap but mine is made with Palmolive brand and it works just fine!*  Use what you have or buy a cheap bottle at the dollar store to try this out.  If you aren’t already using this to clean, you’ll be surprised at how well it works on soap scum and hard water buildup that can come from some areas!

Thanks for stopping by Gracious Luck!  Have a wonderful day!

Do you use vinegar & soap to clean with?  What’s your favorite way to use it?
