Clinique All About Shadow 8-pan Palette {review}

As I was drooling over the pre-release pictures of the UD Naked 3 Palette I stumbled upon this at  – I tried to look for some reviews but I couldn’t find very many.  You know by now I like…no love…Clinique products!  One of my all time favorite eye shadow duo’s is Clinique’s Strawberry Fudge (a stunning pink & brown duo) I used my VIB $20 off to score this gem for $16.00.  I have had this since before Christmas and played around with the colors to get a good impression before I wrote this.

Name:  CLINIQUE  All About Shadow 8-Pan Palette – Limited Edition Nudes

Price: $36.00

Thoughts –

Clinique should win an award for always having beautiful mirrored packaging – yet it annoys me when I get it finger-printy!

The shadows are super soft & creamy – I have used them with a primer and they all hold up for 8+hrs.  I have oily eye lids so I can’t wear shadows with out a primer.  While I have fair skin, I stay towards the light to middle choices during the day but have used the darker side to create a smokey eye for a night out.

The shadows blend really easily and a little goes a long way with these colors, especially the darkest one.

In my attempt at swatches you can see how fair I am and paired with poor snowy lighting, they didn’t come across as pigmented as I had hoped.  The light colors do show up better on my eye lids but they are on the more sheer side, so if you want them to stand out you’ll need to pack them on a little more than the darker colors.

My favorite colors are the 5th from the left which is a taupe/grey and next darker shade on the right of it.  I used these on Christmas eve with a grey & navy blue sweater and loved the look.  I also used the champagne color (2nd from left) on my brow bone for a highlight.

Bottom Line:  LOVE this palette.  Hands down, the best batch of color’s I’ve tried yet but I’m new to jumping on the higher end palette bandwagon so this is also my first! 🙂   The colors can be sheered out or built up and I think this would be a good starter for someone who wants to dip their toes in the water.  The colors are also great for day or night. I’m going to be sharing a couple of my favorite ways to wear colors from this palette soon so stay tuned!

Have you tried this?  What is your favorite neutral palette?

Thanks for visiting Gracious Luck ~ have a wonderful day!

    I love the look of that palette and would wear all the colours on there. The only palette I have is the urban decay 3 which I really like with my pale skin and red hair. It gives my face some warmth.

      I’m fair with dark brown hair, and I love wearing the colors – I almost bought naked 3 but saw this and thought I’d start here. I may still purchase naked 3 down the road!

      I usually use their skin care as well but I have also started to love their makeup. They have great shadows, blush, mascara, lipsticks, glosses, chubby sticks…I’m a little obsessed! 🙂 The only thing that I’ve been sort of disappointed in is their foundation and cc cream. But that had more to do with the consistency for me.
