Hi Loves! In my quest to find a nice mask that helps my dry patches but doesn’t freak out my combo (oily/dry) skin and turn me into an oil slick, I’ve found a contender!
I got interested in First Aid Beauty a while back after getting several samples of their cleanser and ultra repair cream. Both are really nice – so during Sephora’s VIB sale last week, I ordered this to try.
First here are the details from Sephora:
What it is:
A deeply hydrating mask that calms, nourishes, and smoothes distressed skin.
What it is formulated to do:
This 10 minute fix is the perfect antidote to dry, dehydrated skin. Restore your rough, tight complexion and achieve soft, supple results with this must-have treatment. The soothing formula blends a duo of protective oats—colloidal oatmeal and Avena sativa oat bran—with botanical antioxidants and skin-nourishing ingredients to repair and revive your natural beauty.
-It feels super luxurious and a whipped-like consistency when applying it to the skin. I used about a quarter sized amount and spread it on my face. In the end, this feels like the perfect amount, if not a little too much.
-There are oatmeal pieces in it! As I was applying it, these could have a slight exfoliating effect but in a gentle way.
-It dries clear! When I put this on my face was tinted white – 10 minutes later it was mostly clear.
-Left my skin feeling really soft and hydrated.
-Its unscented – my skin is a little on the sensitive side and some highly scented products can make my breakout. This is perfect. My skin seemed to drink up the extra moisture.
– If you have true oily skin, this could be way too heavy for you. Since I’m a mix, but lean more to the drier side lately, this worked perfectly on me.
Bottom Line – Like…not love (yet). It feels wonderful and left my skin soft and hydrated but by the next morning, my skin was back to its normal crabby self. I think if used on a regular basis (which I plan to) I may start to see improvement. With summer around the corner, I think this could also feel lovely if you ended up with some sun burn and just wanted to help hydrate you face.
Have you tried First Aid Beauty products? Do you have any recommendations from the line?
