Mother’s Day Gift Ideas { Blog Hop! }

may blog hop

Hi Loves! Where on earth did April go?! 🙂 Its time for another blog hop with the wonderful ladies in the Beauty & Fashion Blog Community on Facebook { join the party! }.

For the May hop – our topic was Mother’s Day Gift Ideas. Rather than recommend specific items from  specific stores, or at various price points, I like to shop with “ideas”.  Then while I’m out shopping I look something that are along the lines of what I had in mind.  I created these sets on Polyvore (follow me?!) and wanted to share my “ideas” for gifts with you.

My mom works in a school – she’s a teachers aide, substitute teacher, and speech coach.  She’s very traditional and has more of a classic style.  My quest has been to slowly give her a few trendier items over the years that are a mix of both her classic style with something that I like.

She’s not into wearing makeup, or a lot of jewelry, but I think I found some items she’d enjoy.

Idea #1 –  Work Tote Bags.  (What teacher, aide, or coach doesn’t carry a ton of stuff around with them?!  Might as well rock a cool bag while you do!)

Gift Idea #2 – Jewelry.  A little sparkle never huts! I tried to stick with more classic jewelry styles in rose gold.  Plus I LOVE the rose gold trend!

Gift Idea #3 – Perfume.  These are a few scents that I think my mom would like.  Plus they are on the lighter side, so they can be easily worn during the day.  I also love to buy high-end rollerball perfume instead of big bottles because they seem easier to use up (for me anyways) can fit in a purse, travel well, and are a fraction of the price, so if you get something you don’t really like – there’s not as much to use up!

While there are several more ideas to share, ultimately my favorite is to give something personal.  Like a framed picture that was from a special event such as my graduation, or just one the brings back a memory like vacation.
What are you giving your mom for Mother’s Day this year?
Thanks for dropping by Gracious Luck today & be sure to check out the following ladies posting their ideas today as well!

    I love the rose gold suggestion. It’s classic, but most people don’t have a lot of it so it’s something fresh to add to a jewelry collection.

    Jeni – love these ideas! Especially the rose gold themed jewelry! So classy and elegant! 🙂 I always think that mother’s day is the perfect day to pamper your mommy dearest and make her feel luxurious. Your gift ideas were spot on for creating that feeling!

    I love that Kate Spade bow bracelet – it’s so sweet and elegant! My mom’s a teacher too and she is always hauling multiple tote bags to and from school – what a great idea to get her a nice bag!
