ModCloth Nail Klub Dress Challenge!

modclothHi Loves!  I was contacted by Mod Cloth to do a nail challenge based upon one of their dresses!  (I’m embarrassed to say that I’ve only heard of Mod Cloth but never looked into their stuff until now…they have the cutest dresses and at really great prices!)

I chose to base my nails around this dress: Hepcat Dress in Deep Blue – and it comes in regular and plus sizes!  To see more of their adorable dresses {click here}!   (I’m a big girl and knowing that they carry my size in super cute clothes is a huge bonus to me!)  I also love that its only $49.99 which is a great price for such a cute dress.  If I had this dress, I think I would style it like this – and then check out my nail idea below!

On my nails – I chose to use Essie’s Lots of Lux for my nail color.   Its from Essie’s Encrusted collection and described as: shimmering lapis lazuli with a superfine matte finish.  (It was stunning in a single coat – but I chose to use two to get my dots to stick!)  Confession time…I’m terrible at nail art – but accepted the challenge to see what I could come up with.  This is my attempt at simple nail art! 🙂
PicsArt_1405380748703I love this sparkly blue and think it would be perfect with this dress.  To bring across the polka-dots I used my Maybelline Color Show in Clearly Spotted.  I dabbed some onto a piece of cardboard and picked out the white dots and placed them onto my half dry nails.  I like the look of an accent nail instead of doing this on each nail.

I also kept it simple since I work in a professional setting this manicure can be acceptable in the workplace or out on a date night!

What do you think?  I also thought of using a pop or red on my accent nail to carry across the red theme.

Have you tried ModCloth?  I’d love to hear what you think of them.

Thanks for stopping by Gracious Luck – have a wonderful day!
