Hi Loves! I’m starting a new series on my blog called – Shop Your $tash! I have cut back on shopping and spending money on makeup. This makes it pretty hard to be a #beautyblogger but I still love playing with makeup!! In the past couple years I’ve gathered quite the stash of makeup and only a tiny bit of it is actually being used on a daily and weekly basis. (From a frugal standpoint – that is super annoying to me!)
This post will feature makeup from my stash – but at the same time I feel that if you can’t find the specific product you could put your own spin on my ideas and make them your own. Also many of my products are basic or staple colors that could be replicated in other lines. I hope to just play and inspire you to try something different.
If you’ve followed my blog for very long – you’ll know that neutral colors are my comfort zone! I have fair skin and tend to play it pretty safe 99.9% of the time! Tonight – I felt like playing and doing a smokey eye. Instead of basing it around blacks and browns like some do, I put a “taupe” twist on it.
Here’s the products I used!
1 – Victorias Secret Eye Primer
2. Maybelline Color Tattoo – Bad to the Bronze
3. Sephora Outrageous Prisma Chrome in Outrageous Metallic Taupe
4. L’Oreal Quad 527 – Sultry Seductress
5. Sephora Waterproof Eye Liner – Black
6. L’Oreal Lash Out Butterfly Mascara in Black
How I got the look –
I started with putting my favorite primer down from Victorias Secret. Then I took and put Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze all over the lid. Next, I took and patted the Sephora shadow in Metallic Taupe on the lid and then I took the champagne color from the L’Oreal Quad from my crease up to the brow bone. I used a clean blush to mix the taupe and champagne colors to blend the two into more of an ombre effect. Next I took the taupe shadow on a liner brush and took it across the bottom lash line. To make my upper lash line more defined I used the sparkly black shadow from the L’Oreal Quad and stamped it along the lash line to create a soft but defined line. To finish I curled my lashes and layered on the Butterfly mascara a couple times to really make my lashes stand out. (Optional – I used the Sephora Waterproof liner to tight line my bottom lashes – I know this is something that not everyone likes and it looked great without it too!)
What to you think of my “taupe” smokey eye? Or my new series of posts coming from my stash?!
Thanks for stopping by Gracious Luck today!
