Dial Acne Control Face Wash { review }

Hi Loves!  Another review for you from smiley360!  As usual – I didn’t buy this, Smiley360 sent it to me for free to try and let you know what my thoughts are.

First off – I didn’t realize until now that Dial did anything beyond their original orange/yellow hand soap!  You might know by now that I suffer from combination oily/dry skin.  The past month or so I’ve really been struggling with some breakouts and jumped at the opportunity to try a cleanser that could help with my breakouts AND has a drugstore price. (Its listed as $4.47 at Walmart.com!)

 What this is:

The Dial® brand enters the acne category with over 65 years of experience developing leading personal care products for clean, healthy skin. Providing you a total body regimen, NEW Dial® Acne Control is clinically proven to give you clearer looking skin in just 3 days from head to toe. Developed with dermatologists, Dial® Acne Control is oil-free and contains maximum strength salicylic acid to clear skin and prevent future breakouts.

My thoughts:

It has a very subtle and clean smell.  I’ve mentioned this in other posts about skincare products but I really don’t like scented products on my face.  Scented products also tend to make me breakout.  The scent is a little noticeable as you use it but then disappears.

It leaves my skin feeling clean but not “tight” – however – after a couple weeks, this did dry my skin out quite a bit. (Like patchy, flaky, dry skin.)

Its a drugstore line!  – Its no secret, I’m “frugal” and proud of it!  I typically use boscia cleansers which are middle/high end cleansers but they last me quite a while so I can justify it.  Finding a decent drugstore line is hard and this is a great one for you oily skinned readers.

Bottom Line – this product would be great if you have oily skin or lean more towards oily combination skin.  If you skin is oily/dry like mine – heads up – this was way too drying for me.  I think this would have been nice when I was a teenager and my skin was quite oily, especially in my t-zone.

What’s you go to cleanser or skincare line?  I’m mostly a clinique/boscia user because they keep my skin balanced.  Many drugstore lines rarely work except Biore.
