The Christmas Tag!

free Christmas "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" Chalkboard Printable 8x10 page print in frame or printed/transferred to wood?

Happy Holidays Loves!!  I saw this tag floating around and it looked fun.  Check out my answers!  (Its been a long time since I’ve done a tag – instead of tagging by blogging friends – just let me know your answers below in a comment or pick a couple to answer!  I’d love to know what your answers are!)

1. What is your favorite Christmas Movie/s?
Easy.  Hands down – White Christmas with Bing Crosby.  There is a certain level of glitz & glamour that doesn’t exist in today’s movies.  Honorable mention favorites are: Its A Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street – the original, The Holiday, Home Alone
2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
Both. Sort of.  We open gifts with cousins on Christmas Eve following a delicious dinner.  We open Christmas gifts with my mom & brother on Christmas morning.  When we were little – my dad would wake us up at 5AM for gifts…or so it seemed.  I think he was more excited than we were! Now that we’re grown up…its closer to 10 or 11AM!
3. Do you have a favorite Christmas memory?
My parents used to own a bar/restaurant.  To this day – I hate the smell of spilled beer! 🙂  They used to host a holiday party.  I can’t remember exactly but it seems like one year we were closing up after the party and walked out to go home and there were giant, slow falling snow flakes.  It was late at night and quiet and I just remember standing there looking up at the sky with these big snow flakes falling down on me and catching one on my tongue.  It looked like a snowglobe outside.  You know that feeling when you’re young – you have no worries, no fears, no responsibilities, you’re invincible… well – in that moment all was right in the world.  Some times I wish we could go back to those days!
4. Favorite festive food?
Peanut butter cookies with the chocolate star or hershey’s kiss in the middle.  All time favorite.
5. Favorite Christmas gift?
My grandma on my dad’s side died when I was young.  I think I was 8.  I spent time with her and loved “crafting” with her.  I was always making something or organizing my treasures to craft with.  Buttons, beads, lace, ribbon.  She made me a box to keep at her house for these treasures so I’d have something to play with.  My last Christmas with her she got my a kid sized sewing machine.  It actually worked like a miniature sewing machine.  I loved it.  While it isn’t anything glamorous – its more about the memory that comes from it.
6. Favorite Christmas scent?
Cozy smells – Cinnamon, cardamom, clove, orange, apple, vanilla.
7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
We always spent it at my Granny’s farm.  Now that she’s  no longer with us, we continue the tradition at my Aunt & Uncle’s farm which is on the same place now.  We go to Church for services, then eat a meal, then open gifts.

8. What tops your tree?
Lately a star – some years an angel.

9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
This is easy – if you’re related to me – you might know this.
A horse.  Or one of those kids kitchens… quite the opposites huh?!

10. What’s the best part about Christmas for you?
Family and Friends.
Spending time with family and friends and appreciating what you have.  I’ve learned as I got older that its more about memories and things that money can’t buy.  When I was younger it would have been a different answer but today – its about memories and love.
Merry Christmas Loves!  Tell me some of your memories below! xo
