Valentia Royal Rose Hydrating Serum {review}

Hello Loves!  My friends at Velentia asked if I wanted to try this serum and since winter has been harsh on my skin – of course I would try it!  *Valentia did send me this for free to try – but my thoughts about the product are honest and my own.*

First of all, here is some information about the product.

Royal Rose Hydrating Serum $35

Product Description:
This lightweight and hydrating serum was specially crafted with rose petals from the fragrant Damask Rose. This essential oil has long been regarded as more precious than gold for its natural antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and moisturizing properties. In combination with other skin friendly oils, Bearberry, Lavender and Primrose, chosen to soothe and brighten the skin. Our Royal Rose Hydration Serum will nourish, calm and cool the skin for a more refreshed and youthful look and feel.

Usage Instructions:
Apply 1-2 pumps evenly to face and neck each evening after cleansing skin thoroughly. After absorption, follow with moisturizer and eye product of choice.

My thoughts:
First thing I notice is the smell.  I’m on the fence about the rose scent, and this is definitely a “rose” scent – more like fresh cut and not strong but it is there.  Typically I tend to go for unscented skincare products but my skin didn’t mind this one.  If you don’t like the rose scent – you will probably hate this.

Next I noticed the consistency – its very thin and absorbed really fast into my clean skin.  I tried both one pump and two pumps and didn’t see any drastic difference so I’m sticking with using one pump for my face and one pump for my neck and chest.

As with most Valentia products this is cruelty free, and 98% natural which I LOVE about this brand.

BOTTOM LINE:
I really like this product.  It helps give my skin an extra drink without making my skin greasy or break out.  I’ll be adding this to my skincare routine.  I will say that I personally prefer to use serums at night only.  Mainly because I want to spend more time on skincare at night instead of in the mornings.  If you have dry skin, you may prefer trying this both morning and night.
