GL Gets Fit #93 {just a little pain}

People only see small glances of us throughout the day and then make judgments off of that. Stay true to yourself and be proud. #life: Hi Loves! It has taken me a long time to agree with this quote.  For so long – I was always concerned with what everyone else thought. Do I look okay?  What will they think of my clothes? Hows my hair?  (Ok…I still fret over my hair and makeup some days.)  The bigger point is until you learn to be okay with who you are – you’ll never be happy.  I view myself as a work in progress.  I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and I’m not ready to settle where I currently am.  This has always been a journey.

Coming up in the end of June – it will be 2 years since I jumped on this journey.  A lot of things have happened.  Lots of lessons have been learned, and I realized a few things.  (I think I’ll cover those things on my 2 year post.)  It dawned on me as I was typing this up that I’m closing on on two years!! That amazes me.  I hope to make some solid progress in May and June just to maybe hit a new low? How fun would that be?

Illustration showing plantar fascia and location of heel pain This week I need to confess something.  For the past few weeks I’ve been fighting plantar fasciitis in my left foot.  The tendon on the bottom of my foot is inflamed and ANGRY. (See the image – maybe it bothers you some times too? Its quite common actually.)  Mainly in the mornings, then it evens out during the day as I walk and the tendon warms up and then it acts up again at night.  I’m not giving up.  There’s no cure – it has to heal on its own.  Rest, ice, deep tissue massage… I’ve been working on it.  I’m not giving up on my steps goal.  I’m just hobbling around randomly since its really painful to put pressure on my heel at times.  Don’t mind me – I’m still going strong. 🙂

  • Now – some stats for May 10-16.
    • I walked 54,084 steps
    • I walked 21.98 miles (really .02 off 22 miles!) 🙂
    • I didn’t do any yoga – I’m not sure if the stretching will help or hinder my foot?!  If I do calf stretches it seems to aggravate it.
    • I gained half a pound.  Does that really count?! Yes…sort of, but not really.  Half a pound doesn’t bother me as much as a full pound.
  • Goals for May 17-23
    • Meet my steps goal
    • Eat smart
    • Don’t give up!
