Hi Loves, last week was a rough one. It was my aunt’s funeral, lots of delicious food, family and remembering.
I wanted to start working out again after the funeral. Well… I didn’t start until Saturday. However – I did work out Saturday. It felt amazing, so I did it again Sunday, and then last night (Monday). Saturday I was having a sort of lazy day and decided, I wanted to work out. I put on a walking workout that incorporated hand weights and I was a sweaty Betty 20 minutes later! PS…if you’re fresh to working out, 5lb weights for 15 minutes left me exhausted so maybe start lighter! 🙂
I realized, that a year ago or so, I was clocking 45-60 minute workouts. Granted they were yoga but right now, as I’m getting back in, I’m shooting for 20 minutes at a time. In fact, last night, I did a 15 minute walking workout and wanted to work a bit more, so ended up extending that to 45 minutes. I wasn’t super sweaty but I felt I held a good pace.
I’m shooting for 20 minutes a day with the option for 1 day off this week. Mainly because I have an event out of town Thursday night and I’m not sure that I’ll be able to squeeze one in, unless I do it in the morning before work. Its easier for me to swallow 20 minutes a day than committing to an hour – especially right now. My goal is to hit 20 minutes, if I want to do more, I will. I’m also still going strong with my challenge – the first week a few moves were giving me cramps as I did them. Mainly, I’m assuming I was hitting muscles that aren’t normally used. Now – no cramps, so they must be getting used to the moves. I’ll share that challenge with you in September. Its super easy and kinda fun. YES fun! Who knew!
As far as last week goes – I finally, FINALLY, finally lost a pound. I was just hoping to maintain and not gain. The loss was pretty great to see today. One pound at a time, one step at a time, one minute at a time – its all progress.
