Hi Loves! Two weeks from today and Christmas will be over. 😦 This past week was a crazy busy one for me. I managed to tweak a muscle in my lower back, so I made the decision to hit pause on the plank challenge. I didn’t say I quit – I hit pause. In fact, I may start over completely. I aggravated an old injury from high school that left me randomly walking hunched over for a couple days. That was not cool! I isolated it to that injury because I could do down dog one legged. The old injury left my back and other leg crunched up as I tried to extend it.
A few times a year I have a habit of running myself ragged. Late nights, early mornings, and running to work and various other events leaves me struggling. An example would be last week. I spent the evenings working on projects. Friday I spent the evening deep cleaning parts of my apartment because they were annoying me. Saturday I was up from 8am-3am without a nap or much of a break. Sunday I was up from 8:30am-10pm. Some times, I need to remind myself to hit the pause button on my brain and just stop moving for 20 minutes or longer and rest.
This reminds me that I may need to get back into yoga in a very important way. Yoga has been the only thing that has allowed me to actually hit the pause button. While I’m paying attention to what I should be doing, I’m also able to block out everything else.
Before I end – I did gain a pound. When I’m tired, I eat. And I eat bad food! However, it happens. I’m still less than I was a couple weeks ago. Here’s hoping that this week I maintain or get back on track to dropping a pound.
