Frugal Friday {52 week money challenge}

 Hi Loves!

Its time for a Frugal Friday post – and a challenge I’m starting.  No buy months are hit and miss for me.  I try to focus on no-buy days.  Can you go a day without buying anything?  For some of us its much harder than others.

I’m not going to lie, it can be a struggle for me.  One of my favorite money bloggers mentioned something last week that made a lot of sense to me.

A couple years ago I embarked on the 52 week money saving challenge.  I started it in January, made it about 3 months and then gave up. The lady I follow is starting hers in November.  I realized, that is perfect.  Then next October, I’ll hit the big numbers before the holidays come around.  There are several ways to do this challenge.  But basically, every week, you take a set amount of money and you plunk it into a savings account.  (I use an online savings account.)

Week 1 – $1, Week 2 – $2, etc.  Some people list out $1 thru $52, and cross off whatever they can do that week.  For example, I did the bigger numbers when I got a refund.  Some people combine weeks.  You can spin it in whatever way works for you.  I’ll put a couple graphics below to give you ideas.  I’m going to do this challenge every Friday.  Today, November 3, I’m putting $1 into my savings account.

Want to do the challenge with me?  Join the fun?  Let me know what you think of this idea! 🙂  Its surprising how fast it can add up.  Have  a great day loves!
