GL Gets Fit #197 {patience}

I am so "instant gratification" and it ruins everything lol...Hi Loves!

If you know me at all, you know patience is not something that I possess.  I wish I did!  What little I have is very limited! 🙂

Yesterday I jumped into week 8 of DDP Yoga.  Although due to things going on I have missed Friday workouts for the past 3 weeks.  So I’ve only been getting in 2 of the three workouts.

This week I have 4 workouts to do.  I’m going to be out of town Thursday and Friday after work.  So rather than follow the schedule and skip a day or two, I’m tweaking it.  I looked at the workouts and I’m going to basically work out Monday-Thursday.  While I’m busy Thursday night, I have a short workout when I get home.  Then I at least get my yoga in.  I’m also hoping to get some walking in over the holiday weekend.

Last night, I also hit a personal milestone.  I was able to hold a pose in a fairly advanced position and I loved it.  Three years ago when I started this adventure of blogging my ups and downs of getting healthier, I wouldn’t have come close to where I am today.  Weight wise, in three years I haven’t lost that much but I gained some muscle tone, I feel better, and I’m able to hold poses that I thought were impossible.  I still have a goal to drop pounds and now that I’m getting back into a workout groove, I think that will start to come back in to play.

This is the pose that I was pretty close to holding, except I held my feet instead of pointing hands and feet but I’ll get there.  I took a picture to check my form but I’m not sharing that on here! 😀

Eating wise, I’ve been having some tummy troubles this week.  I’m not sure whats going on with that but I’m just taking things one step at a time.  I’ve also started adding fresh fruit to some of my water bottles just to mix things up a bit and not have “plain” water.  I’m currently enjoying a strawberry & lemon mixture.

So for my weekly weigh in, I gained a bit.  Nearly a pound.  However, while I’m working thru this tummy trouble, I’m not going to focus too much on it.  I think part of my issue was eating heavy foods the past week.  While some are more indulgent than others, its not always a healthy decision! 🙂
