I realized not too long ago that I crossed the 1 year mark since I reformatted my blog and joined the realm of beauty blogging on a somewhat regular basis! 🙂 I appreciate each and every one of my readers and the amazing friends I’ve made in the past year. ((HUGS)) Continue reading
I was out doing some light Christmas shopping with friends and we wanted to stop by Bath & Body Works to see if we could get any good deals. First off – the store was crazy busy but that didn’t stop us, we just worked our way in. It was packed because they had a “Buy 3 – Get 3 FREE” deal going on. I also had a $10 off a $30 purchase coupon that I could use with the deal.
I found that the small candles were $10.00. I chose three of those for $30.00 and got three free. After using the $10 off a $30 purchase coupon, I got 6 small candles (20-30hr burn time) for $21.40! Or roughly $3.56 a candle or a savings of $6.44 per candle/38.64 total! Continue reading
I didn’t realize until too late that we didn’t have a link up last week so I’m sharing my post from last week…for this week! Have a great day & thanks for stopping by Gracious Luck!
Welcome to another day in the good life! Since my blog is still pretty new I pulled a more recent post and a couple older ones from before the relaunching of my blog this spring! Hope you like what you find!
Favorite Post On Organization (Semi-Organized Idea! Upcycling Candle Jars!)
I attempt being organized – but I’m not Martha Stewart! I just tend to like things “in their place” wherever that may be! I started accumulating this stock pile of candle jars but couldn’t decide what to do with them so I cleaned them out and waited for my a-ah! moment. One night I decided I was tired of stuff strung out all over my desk – so I started with putting binder clips in one jar from Bath & Body Works (BBW), and then my paperclips fit perfectly in a mini-candle jar that was also from BBW. It has since grown into helping me organize my bathroom closet and medicine cabinet! Click the link above to read the full post.
Favorite Posts – Reviews – ps.. I’m a bzzagent!
It’s probably no secret by now that I LOVE makeup! I am also a bzzagent (see last paragraph if you want to become one) which means companies send me products to try; I just use them and share my thoughts with friends, family, or anyone willing to listen or read my blog!
One of my most favorites was: Covergirl Blast Flipsticks Review (Click link to read full review!) These were fun and great conversation starters when I’d wear them but since the review early this year – I’ve never worn Minx (I’m way to pale for that!) and I’ve given Stunner to a friend who can rock a bright red/orange lip a lot better than me. I did keep Vixen and randomly use it!
One other review that I had a lot of fun putting together was: BATTLE of the RAZORS! (Click link to read full review!)
I was sent the Schick Hydro Razor and had my holy grail Gillette Venus Razor so I put them head to head for a true test. If you are looking for a new razor – I like them both but lean more towards Schick because to me it lasts longer and I get a better shave but if you want to read all the details click the link above!
As far as being a bzzagent goes – I’ve gotten to try out everything from cosmetics to cat food for my kitty! Its pretty simple if you are interested go to http://www.bzzagent.com and sign up. I’ve had some pretty cool products given to me like a Phillips epilator that was a $100 value but those types of scenarios are pretty few and far between. Usually its smaller scale products but it’s still fun and you get either samples or coupons to share with others and sometimes you get both.
Thanks for stopping by Gracious Luck! Have a wonderful day!
What do we do with the numerous candle jars and glasses? I love candles, (see post from Bath & Body Works Candle Haul) but I wasn’t really sure what to do with all of the nice containers that they come in. Do you recycle them? Just throw them away?! (NO!) I started to sort of stock pile them in an empty cabinet waiting for my “aha!” moment. A couple months ago I saw a vlog where one of my favorite bloggers Kristen Gehm was cleaning out the bath and body works containers to use as storage. My immediate thought was DUH!?! They are a really nice size for helping keep things organized. Check out some of my favorite uses so far.
That seemed silly and not very attractive. They were a pain to fish out and the plastic was tearing around the top. I took them and put them in their own containers from bath and body works, a 3-wick candle and a mini candle. The other jar is a Swan Creek candle that I received as a gift – smelled like Ah-mazing cinnamon rolls that almost made you drool! This one I store some random items from my desk in. A measuring tape, super glue, and some label tape. These jars sit on my desk and while its still cluttered…that section of my desk looks a little bit tidier! 🙂
2) Bathroom Storage! I have two small containers of pony tail holders & bobby pins and another glass with my favorite flossers that fit perfectly in my medicine cabinet! I have another to corral my lip products. One that keeps my makeup brushes organized, and another that holds cotton rounds that I use for everything from nail polish remover to eye makeup remover and toner!
I absolutely love bath and body works! Who doesn’t?! Actually my favorite part of the store is their candles which I adore. I have loved candles for years but do recognize there is a difference between some brands and the way the burn and the amount of fragrance they throw.
I’ve been eyeing those emails from Bath & Body Works for a couple weeks with their daily “special” – and while I was sort of tempted, it wasn’t until they shaved another dollar off their 3-Wick Candles that I caved!
Here are two that I am anxious to burn…once I finish my current candle of Apple Blossoms (I don’t remember the brand, I bought it at a going out of business sale for dirt cheap).
I picked up Mahogany Teakwood & First Bloom. Mahogany Teakwood smells like a good men’s cologne with a hint of lavender. (The kind of guy smell that can make a girl swoon!) And First Bloom is a light mix of fresh cut flowers – I picked up immediately on plumeria, but also has peony and apple blossom.
