Weekend Mani

IMG_20131022_113214

Hi Lovelies!  I’m sorry this post is behind, I spent the weekend working and then was sick but I’m back and on the mend!  I did manage to get my nails done before I took family pictures on Sunday and wanted to share one of my favorite fall colors.  You might have figured out by now that I love dark and bold polishes but also love red polishes.  This week’s mani features Sephora by OPI (I stocked up when they were on clearance!) in Ruby Without a Cause (opaque chrome wine-burgundy with two tone effect) which is still available if you want to order your own!  This is slightly misleading because its a duo-chrome with gold/olive green in it and in the bottle but applied I’m mainly seeing the ruby.  Maybe next time I’ll try to mix it up better.  On my accent nail I’m using a silver shatter polish that I had but never tried before.  I thought it was fun to mix it up for a change.  *Please ignore the chips, I took this picture yesterday so it was 3 days into the mani and I didn’t coat my tips like I normally do!*

Thanks for stopping by today and checking out my weeeknd mani from Sunday!

Weekend Mani ~ Sephora by OPI ~ Meet for Drinks

PicsArt_1379280379789

Its time for a weekend mani!  I’ve missed doing these because I find doing my nails to be a sort of relaxing process!  I took the past week off because I’m still trying to get rid of a little staining on my nails.  I have been drooling over all of the fall colors I’m seeing in the magazines and online so thought it’s time for my first “fall” mani!  This color is Sephora by OPI’s Meet for Drinks and unfortunately it’s no longer available so I can’t provide you with Sephora’s description.  However I’d say its a vampy dark red with a touch of burgundy to it.  I can’t stop staring at my nails – I saw on instagram after posting that someone used a gold glitter on accent nails and it looked amazing.  I might have to buy some in the future and try that.  I also see that matte nails are coming back so might try that with this color as well.

Weekend Mani ~ Sephora by OPI ~ Curve-aceous

IMG_20130727_171504IMG_20130727_171921_828-1

This weekends manicure is using up the last of my Sephora by OPI polishes that I got on sale in June.  I love a good red nail.  However with my cooler skin tone I prefer blue-toned reds instead of orange toned.  It looks a lot better on my skin or at least it does in my opinion!

This polish is called Curve-acious and I did an accent nail using Sally Hansen Hard As Nails in #840 Ice Queen.

The red has a lovely consistancy and this look used two coats and I used an Orly top coat.  For the accent nail I just did one coat and then went back in and added a few of the bigger glitter pieces.

Weekend Mani – Using Sephora by OPI

IMG_20130713_091350_646This weekends manicure is using another one of my new Sephora by OPI polishes.  This polish is henna-thing is possible.  I absolutely love this color with my fair, cool-toned skin.

I also love the formula of these polishes however my nails do have a few flaws since I got a little impatient waiting for coats to dry! 😦 This is with two coats and it can streak a little if you aren’t careful when applying.  This picture was taken this morning and is on day 3 of my manicure after washing dishes and taking showers it is holding up well!  These polishes continue to impress me with their lasting power and they are still on sale for $4.50!  Here’s the link to this color if you are interested {click here}.

Sephora describes this color as opaque metallic fuchsia but I feel like I’m seeing more red in this than blue tones that go with some pink colors.

Thanks for stopping by Gracious Luck and have a fantastic day!

Weekend DIY Mani – Using Sephora by OPI

IMG_20130707_113700_371Weekend Mani Time!!!  I love doing my nails and am fairly fortunate that I’m able to grow them or keep them short.  This weekend’s mani features two of my new polishes from Sephora’s half off sale!  I think summer is the perfect time of year to play around with colors that you wouldn’t normally wear.  I think this color could also be pretty in fall and winter as well.

Nail Polish Haul!! {obsessed!?!}

I have loved nail polish for as long as I remember.  Growing up I think I was drawn to it because it was “sort-of” makeup that my mom let me have and if nothing else let me experiment with.  Do you remember those crazy early ’00’s post grunge colors like black, dark green, navy blue, yellow, etc.  I had a ton of them.  Then I went to college and scaled back my obsession until a couple of years ago when it started to grow again.  Growing up I was focused on whatever I could find that was cheap (I had to spend my own hard earned money on it!!).  Now I have started to favor brands like Zoya, OPI, and Orly.

Here is my latest haul from Sephora and their summer sale where polishes are half off!  I had to stop myself from buying a lot more but here’s what I purchased!  They are fairly true to color in the picture.  Starting top to bottom (also on the nail wheel) they are:

IMG_20130701_133020

1. Arm Candy (I feel like this is more bubblegum/hot pink

2. Henna-thing is Possible (LOVE vibrant jewel tone colors on my fair skin!!)

3. Curve-aceous (I also have a weakness for what I feel is the “perfect” red)

4. Teal We Meet Again (A little crazy for me but I cannot wait to put this on my toes!)

5. I’m So Sari (Wouldn’t this pair nicely with “Teal We Meet Again” – I’m thinking as a tip or as an accent nail!)

Do you have any beauty obsessions?  I’d love to hear what your weakness is when it goes on sale!

Next post will be on organizing jewelry in an *inexpensive* and visual way!
