I love reading “Empties” posts and vlogs because you can get a true impression of what someone thinks of a specific product. This batch of empties is for a couple months but hope you enjoy reading about a few of my favorites and a few that I didn’t like! Continue reading
This look is using one of my favorite eye shadow colors – Purple! I love the way it looks with brown eyes. I had discovered a shadow that I had never used. Its a deep purple/plum color from Victoria’s Secret. Its VS Luminous Eye Shadow in Divine. I started with putting this over my lid. Next I took the L’Oreal #527 Sultry Seductress from the Colour Riche line and put the top taupe color into my crease and the champagne color along my brow bone. I used the purple from the quad as eye liner and also put it along my bottom lashes and then topped it with some of the taupe to add more of a metallic effect. Last – I finished it with mascara from Benefit’s They’re Real.
I really like how this one turned out and think it would be fun for a holiday party or even Halloween party.
Have a great day and thank you for stopping by Gracious Luck!
For this look I used:
- VS Metallized Eye Shadow in Buzz (a gun metal grey with purple tones).
- VS Luminous Shadow & Liner in Temptress (Plum shadow & Navy liner)
- Covergirl Eye Enhancers #125 (discontinued)
I started with VS Pro eye primer and then put the color buzz all over the lid and up towards the crease.
Next I used the light purple as a highlight along my brow bone, and last used the the navy liner.
I finished the look with Maybelline The Rocket in black.
Thanks for stopping by Gracious Luck today!
This look is using a duo from Victoria’s Secret that I got last summer. I’m embarrassed to say that I’ve never used it. I fell in love with it in the store but never had the courage to rock this bright and bold of a color before. I stick with neutrals or purples that aren’t quite this shocking! However I decided tonight to “play” and here’s the look I came up with. First I started with my favorite primer – the Kat Von D High Voltage Primer – to lock this purple color in. Next I patted the purple color onto the lid and then put the black sparkle color on the outer edge and then blended it into the crease with a crease brush. This duo did have quite a bit of fallout so if you try a darker duo from VS – maybe do your eyes first and then foundation & concealer! Then I took a damp liner brush and used the black as my eye liner with a subtle cat eye (I’m still mastering this!) and finished with Maybelline’s The Rocket mascara!
Its my birthday month – maybe this look or some variation of it would be fun for a party!
Thanks for stopping by Gracious Luck and have a fantastic day!
This look uses a discontinued Victorias Secret Quad but I have found similar colors in L’Oreal and Covergirl trios and singles. The quad is called Ravishing and is from a couple of years ago. I started with my VS Pro Primer and then used the lilac color all over the lid and into the crease. Next I took the lightest shade which is a very soft pink and put it along my browbone. Then I took the deep plum/purple color into the crease and lastly took the dark grey color and used it as a top and bottom liner.

I love watching my favorite beauty vloggers on youtube! One of my favorites is Ingrid @ missglamorazzi and she randomly creates tags. I’ve never done a blog post tag before but this seems kind of fun and allow us to share some of our favorite products!
Now ~ On to the Questions! 🙂
1. Favorite bronzer for summer?
Since I’m so fair, I really like bronzers that help warm me up with out looking like an ooompa-loompa! I have two favorites one is a shimmer and one is a non-shimmer.
Top (Shimmer) is e.l.f. in “Golden” You can find this at Target for a whopping $3.00! I did hit pan in May but it’s lasted me quite a bit longer than you might imagine.
Bottom (Matte) is a cult favorite Nars Duo in Laguna with Blush Orgasam. I got the baby size since this was my first and so far really only high-end makeup purchase. I found this at Sephora for $25.00. Both are lovely but since it was more expensive its not one of my go-to everyday products.
2. You’re relaxing in a hammock, on a tropical island. What are you sipping on? (Favorite summer drink)
This is a tough choice but I’ve narrowed it down to two main drinks an ice cold glass of James Arthur Edelweiss (Made in Nebraska!!!) or some moscoto like barefoot or yellowtail.
Or if I’m on vacation and find a bartender who knows what I’m talking about – a Rum Runner! 🙂
Non-Alcoholic – Crystal Light Raspberry Ice or Diet Mountain Dew!
3. Favorite summer lip product?
I picked 3 of my summer favorites that I’ve been wearing quite a bit.(Left to Right & Swatched top to bottom on my hand)
Maybelline Color Whisper in #65 Pink Possibilities
Clinique Chubby Stick in Plumped Up Pink (I think this was limited edition for Breast Cancer Awareness last fall)
Victorias Secret Brilliant Lip Shine Extreme in Sunset Strip
4. Pool or Beach?
Hands down…Ocean Beach! If I could pick but since I live in landlocked Nebraska a its usually a River Beach that I find myself settling for if no beach vacation is in the plans (which is a majority of the time)!
5. Summer = crazy hair! What’s your must-have styling product?
My curling iron or a clip! I have a natural wave in my hair and let it air dry most of the time between spring & fall because its thick and takes a long time to dry. My go to is letting it air dry and then using my curling iron to put in some beachy waves! If I’m feeling rushed or having a bad hair day my other go-to is using one of these big clips from Scunci with rubber grips in the inside!
6. Sun bathing or fake tan?
Neither or fake tan! Since I’m so pale, sun bathing always ends in me getting burnt and then it might change to a tan. If I’m craving color I like Jergens Natural Glow.
7. Favorite summer nail polish?
I couldn’t pick just one! I have a ton of polishes but here are two that I’ve already rocked a couple times this summer!
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Posh Plum
Zoya in Gilda
8. Any summer traditions?
Mainly the few summer traditions I have are attending a couple family reunions and taking in local events like fairs and festivals.
9. Favorite summer scent?
I love body sprays – especially in the summer months. I want to smell nice but don’t like a strong perfume. I have recently fallen back in love with the seasonal scents by Victorias Secret . I’m loving Pink’s Summer Daze (juiced citron & fresh pansy), VS Sparkling Citrus Dream (grapefruit & red lily) and VS Sunset Flower (Maguet & White Amber). After typing those I’m seeing a love of citrus which I normally am not a fan of but these are light and airy scents that just feel like summer vacation to me!
10. Favorite BBQ food?
That would have to be a grilled burger from a charcoal grill!
11. What’s your favorite summer-proof product?
Blotting Papers – I have a beat up package from Boscia that lives in my purse year round! They really do work for soaking up any excess oils and prevent you from having to “re-do” your makeup when you are on the go. These came in super handy when I had two weddings last summer that were in the heat.
12. Any summer vacation plans this year? No plans? Tell us about your dream summer trip!
No plans 😦 But my dream trip would be just a week long trip to Turks & Caicos! Just kicked back on the beach and force myself to slow down and not be in a rush to get someplace or get something done!
I now tag all of you to try this! It’s kind of fun!
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by Gracious Luck!
