Weekend Mani ~ Shopping Frenzy {sephora by OPI}

PicsArt_1389585602968

Hi Lovelies!  I am so bummed that Sephora discontinued this line because I LOVED the formula and colors of these polishes.  Its a shocking bright fuschia pink with some blue undertones.  (I’m sorry I’m horrible at describing colors & scents!) But its pretty vivid and I love it.

I was going through my polish collection last night and wanted a bright & happy color to kick off the week with.  Its been so gloomy here that this is just what I needed!

I’m sure there is a dupe some where for this color and if I come up with one – I’ll definitely let you know since I’m half through my bottle! Continue reading

September Beauty Empties!

PicsArt_1379553448843

I love empties videos and posts because we can share with each other the good, bad, and ugly results!

1. Bath & Body Works – Wildberry Hibiscus Hand Soap

I love Bath & Body Works Hand Soaps and you’ll see it showing up pretty frequently because its my go to soap for the bathroom.  This scent was from last summer and it was a nice floral and berry scent. *I will definitely buy more…once I work through my existing stash!*

2. Soap & Glory Clean On Me Creamy Moisture Shower Gel

I liked this.  I love how super moisturizing and bubbly it was when I used it, but despite rave youtuber reviews I wasn’t a fan of the scent.  I’m not even sure how to explain it other then being super girly!  I would say try the travel size like I did before committing to the monster size!  You might like it – my mom liked the scent but I wasn’t a big fan.  One plus was that the scent lingered on my skin for quite a while after I got out of the shower. *I would check to see if there are any other scents available first.*

3. Sephora Super Serum – Super Loaded Age Defy Serum

I was looking for something to treat my dreaded forehead lines.  I used this pretty religiously but didn’t notice any significant differences.  The packaging is also misleading because you have no idea how close you are to being out.  (Design Flaw Sephora!!!) I did take mine apart thanks to a knife edge and some prying and dug out the last bits.  However, once I took it apart I realized that the inside canister is somewhat smaller than the outside. *Not impressed enough to purchase this again…the hunt continues!!*

4. Clinique Take the Day Off Makeup Remover (deluxe sample)

You guys know by now I’m a Clinique girl – it just works on my semi-sensitive skin.  I have several of these free from ordering at Clinique.com and have been working my way through them.  I like it and its the perfect size for travel.  I ran out when I was at my moms and picked up the Equate version that you shake and I’d say its a contender to this and at a fraction of the price. *I’m torn, I love this but love saving a ton of money on Equate…its a toss up if if I’d purchase this again.*

5. Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Face Polish (deluxe sample)

I really liked this – it had a super fine texture that exfoliated without making me feel like I was damaging my skin.  It was lightly scented and rinsed off nicely.  I would use this at night and after use I would follow up with a nice thicker moisturizer to let my skin soak in all its goodness.  *I would definitely consider purchasing this.*

6. Fresh Sugar Rose tinted lip treatment

I got this like many of you last year from Sephora for my birthday.  I have a love/hate relationship with this product. First off the scent and lemony flavor is sort of a turn off to me.  I prefer unflavored and unscented lip products.  However, I loved the sheer wash of color that it gave my lips.  I did feel like this dried my lips out and found myself reapplying quite a bit.  My biggest complaint was that towards the end the balm got really soft.  I’m not sure if it was getting “old” or what, it lived in my purse and while applying at work, the little quarter inch that was remaining literally came off and dropped onto my shirt…luckily it didn’t stain! *I will not be repurchasing this, it was ok but too many little things I didn’t like about it.*

That is it for my little empties collection – thanks for topping by Gracious Luck today!

Weekend Mani ~ Sephora by OPI ~ Meet for Drinks

PicsArt_1379280379789

Its time for a weekend mani!  I’ve missed doing these because I find doing my nails to be a sort of relaxing process!  I took the past week off because I’m still trying to get rid of a little staining on my nails.  I have been drooling over all of the fall colors I’m seeing in the magazines and online so thought it’s time for my first “fall” mani!  This color is Sephora by OPI’s Meet for Drinks and unfortunately it’s no longer available so I can’t provide you with Sephora’s description.  However I’d say its a vampy dark red with a touch of burgundy to it.  I can’t stop staring at my nails – I saw on instagram after posting that someone used a gold glitter on accent nails and it looked amazing.  I might have to buy some in the future and try that.  I also see that matte nails are coming back so might try that with this color as well.

Weekend DIY Mani – Using Sephora by OPI

IMG_20130707_113700_371Weekend Mani Time!!!  I love doing my nails and am fairly fortunate that I’m able to grow them or keep them short.  This weekend’s mani features two of my new polishes from Sephora’s half off sale!  I think summer is the perfect time of year to play around with colors that you wouldn’t normally wear.  I think this color could also be pretty in fall and winter as well.

1-Teal We Meet Again

2-Accent Nail (base of teal we meet again) ombre style with I’m So Sari

Have a great day & Thanks for Stopping by Gracious Luck!

Nail Polish Haul!! {obsessed!?!}

I have loved nail polish for as long as I remember.  Growing up I think I was drawn to it because it was “sort-of” makeup that my mom let me have and if nothing else let me experiment with.  Do you remember those crazy early ’00’s post grunge colors like black, dark green, navy blue, yellow, etc.  I had a ton of them.  Then I went to college and scaled back my obsession until a couple of years ago when it started to grow again.  Growing up I was focused on whatever I could find that was cheap (I had to spend my own hard earned money on it!!).  Now I have started to favor brands like Zoya, OPI, and Orly.

Here is my latest haul from Sephora and their summer sale where polishes are half off!  I had to stop myself from buying a lot more but here’s what I purchased!  They are fairly true to color in the picture.  Starting top to bottom (also on the nail wheel) they are:

IMG_20130701_133020

1. Arm Candy (I feel like this is more bubblegum/hot pink

2. Henna-thing is Possible (LOVE vibrant jewel tone colors on my fair skin!!)

3. Curve-aceous (I also have a weakness for what I feel is the “perfect” red)

4. Teal We Meet Again (A little crazy for me but I cannot wait to put this on my toes!)

5. I’m So Sari (Wouldn’t this pair nicely with “Teal We Meet Again” – I’m thinking as a tip or as an accent nail!)

Do you have any beauty obsessions?  I’d love to hear what your weakness is when it goes on sale!

Next post will be on organizing jewelry in an *inexpensive* and visual way!
